Chau Ram County Park, near Westminster, has several loop trails adding up to around 4 miles. It features lots of walking along the beautiful boulder-filled Chauga River and Ramsey Creek with a beautiful waterfall. The Riley Moore Falls Trail is up the highway around 8 miles toward Long Creek, SC. It is a little over 2 mi round trip hike to beautiful Riley Moore Falls. The trails are well maintained at the Chau Ram County Park and in generally good condition at the Riley Moore Falls. Total hiking distance today - 6.2 mi. with a few moderate hills. We rate it only moderately difficult due to some steep, but short climbs. The sky was mostly cloudy, somewhat humid, but the temperatures were 59 to 65 degrees, a great day to hike

Directions

Chau Ram Park is on Highway 76 about 3.5 mi. north of Westminster, SC. You will see a sign on the left. For Riley Moore Falls Trail-- From Westminster, drive west 7.5 miles on US Highway 76 and turn right onto Cobb Bridge Road (Oconee County S-37). Drive 1.6 miles; turn left onto Spy Rock Road (FS 748, graveled). Drive 1.8 miles to FS 748C (on the right) and park by the side of the road. Hike east on FS 748C for 0.3 miles to the trail and hike 0.7 miles to the waterfall. Another great day for a hike! Mostly clear and cool with temperatures from 46 to 63 degrees F
