Trail information

Trail access - Rock Gap in the Standing Indian area west of Franklin, NC. Another beautiful hiking day! Hiking distance 10 miles. Wildflowers viewed - Clintonia, Gentian, White Snakeroot, Wood Asters, Heart-leafed Asters, other asters, Goldernrods, Star Flowers, Southern Harebells, Joe Pye Weed Heal All, Phlox, Golden Glo Sunflowers. Fauna identified - Ruffed Grouse, Great Horned Owl, kettle of Broad-winged Hawks, Pileated Woodpecker, Blue Jays, Solitary Vireo, and White-breasted Nuthatch

Partly Cloudy - temperature ranged from 60-70 degrees F.
