AT - Woody Gap to Gooch Gap

Another great day for a hike! The hike started off in the fog which cleared a couple of hours into the hike, but the clouds remained throughout the hike with an occasional ray of sunlight poking through to warm the day. The trail was generally in good condition, but fairly wet and somewhat slippery in some locations due to the overnight rain and previous two months of frequent rains. No wind with the temperatures ranging from 48 to 56 degrees Total distance - 7.7 mi. Strenuous We met 25 thru-hikers today 18 miles into their 2,000 plus mile journey to Mt. Katahdin, Maine. These thru-hikers were from England, Wales, Denmark, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, North Carolina, New Hampshire and Florida. Only two of the thru-hikers were women.
