The Appalachian Trail - Tessnatee Gap - Cow Rock - Wolf Laurel Top GA
Today's hike was on the Appalachian Trail in Union County GA . We hiked from Tesnatee Gap to Cowrock Mountain then to Wolf Laurel Top and back. Total of 4.2 miles
Directions
Take GA 75 north from Helen for 1.5 miles. Turn left onto GA 356(75 Alternate) and travel 2.3 miles to the Richard B. Russell Scenic Highway (GA 348). Turn right and travel about 9.5 miles to Tessnatee Gap. The parking lot is on the left. Another great day for a hike! Hiking distance - 4.2 miles. WILD

The Trailhead for today. Tesnatee Gap Trail Angels were serving the thru-hikers as they came through the gap. They give the thru-hikers treats and any assistance that they might need. A great ministry! The trail to Cow Rock is mostly steep and we met our first thru-hiker coming down to Tessnatee Gap. (photos of each thru-hiker posted at the bottom of this page) Early springtime wildflowers are starting to emerge! A beautiful Bloodroot This hike features many great mountain views. The summit of Cow Rock Mt. Headed to Wolf Laurel Top. The rocky and rolling Appalachian Trail! More beauty! Lunchtime at Cow Rock. Headed back down the rock.
