Bartram Trail - Scaly Mountain, NC
Today's hike was on the Bartram Trail in North Carolina from Osage Mountain Vista to the summit of Scaly Mountain and Hickory Knut Gap
Directions
Osage Mt. Vista is 5.7 miles west of Highlands on NC Hwy. 106. Or from Dillard, GA turn right on GA 246 which becomes NC 106 and drive approx. 9 miles to Osage Overlook on the right. Another great day for a hike! Hiking distance - 5.7 miles. WILD

Our trailhead for today's hike. Headed up the new stairs leading from the highway up onto the trail. Nice new trail sign at the start. The trail gains lots of elevation as we climb Scaly Mountain. Trail junction for Hickory Knut connector trail. My Father planted these two trees on solid rock! You can't do that! Marker at the trail junction. Continuing the climb toward the summit. Near the summit, we get great views over to Rabun Bald in GA. Great views from Scaly Mt. One of the finest lunch spots anywhere! Lunchtime on Scaly Mt. Nice! The OFHC gang for today's hike.
