The Stoneplace Trail - Tallulah Gorge State Park - GA
Today, we hiked on the Stoneplace Trail at Tallulah Gorge State Park. Including the side trail to Inspiration Point, the hike was approximately 10 miles
Trail information
The Stoneplace Trail Starts at the parking lot for the Interpretive Center at Tallulah Gorge State Park. The trail is 5 miles one way as it leads to the Stoneplace boat ramp on Tugalo Lake. The trail has moderate hills along with some flat areas. On the return trip you can take the gorge rim trail to the newest over-look, Inspiration Point. Inspiration Point is the highest view point and it is breathtaking as you look deep into the gorge with views of Oceana and Bridal Veil Falls!
Directions
Travel to Tallulah Falls GA on Highway 441 about 12 miles south of Clayton, GA. Turn at the traffic light onto Jane Hurt Yarn Rd. to the Interpretive Center. Another great day for a hike! WILD

Fair and cool with temperatures from the low 50's to low 60's.

Getting ready at the trailhead! Information sign for the Stoneplace Trail. A beautiful Autumn day for a hike! A nice-sized bear paw print! The rock wall at Stoneplace boat ramp on Tugalo Lake Beautiful Tugalo Lake! This Georgia Power Lake has a boat motor size limit of 25 hp. We still have some good color in the North Georgia mountains. We stopped by Inspiration Point on the return trip. A breathtaking over-look! Looking deep into the gorge! Another great view from Inspiration Point!
