Black Rock Mountain, GA
Today's hike was on the Tennessee Rock Trail in Black Rock Mountain State Park near Clayton, GA. Only seven O.F.H.C. hikers braved the weather and not one of them melted! Total hike approx. 3 miles
Trail information
The Tennessee Rock Trail is a beautiful 2.2 mile loop trail with nice views on a clear day. Today was not exactly clear! The group also hiked down to the visitors center at the State Park
Directions
The Tennessee Rock Trail is located in Black Rock Mountain State Park on Black Rock Mountain Parkway, 3 miles north of Clayton, GA off U.S. Hwy. 441. Look for brown directional signs in Mountain City. Another great day for a hike! Hiking distance - 3 miles WILD

This confused Rosebay Rhododendron was blooming way out of season! Another great day for a hike in the rain! Visibility was very low today! No one was even tempted to get off the trail! . It was so wet that even the trees tried to stand up and walk to higher ground. Mountain Gentian The trail is very well marked. "Beau" the trail dog didn't mind the rain.
