Today’s hike was on the Section 200 Trail at Yonah Preserve near Cleveland, GA. HIKERS – Sue Vaughn, Debbie Griffin, Allyson Aldrich, Stephanie Kromelis, Matt Henderson & Toby, Beth Hawkins, Angela Evans, John Cape, Ray Lovett, Edwin Pruitt, Jack Treadman and Vic Robson. TRAIL INFO. – The 200 Section trail, like the rest of Yonah Preserve, is primarily for hikers and mountain bikers. It is an easy loop trail that goes past the Turner Reservoir and continues on through a shaded forest. The trail is well-marked and maintained with paved trailhead parking, restrooms, and covered picnic facilities. The terrain is very gentle with some rolling hills but nothing strenuous. DIRECTIONS: Take Hwy 129 N out of Cleveland for about 2.5 mi and turn right on Albert Reid Rd. (old skating and bowling building) continue 2.3 miles to Yonah Preserve on the right. Another great day for a hike! Partly cloudy, light winds, warm and humid. Temperatures in the upper 80’s F. Total distance – 3.4 miles. Hike organized by Angela Evan with all photos by Sue Vaughn.
